Pet Friendly Places
Oftentimes we find ourselves looking for places that we can take our four-legged family members. Here are some places that our babies love. (This message is approved by Wicket, Jango, Link, Taco, and Kami.)
Pearsall Dog Park
One of the best off-leash dog parks in San Antonio! This park has fenced in play for your pups and has lots of stimuli including agility equipment, water fountains, fire hydrants, and picnic tables.
The Cove, which is a restaurant, beer garden, music venue, car wash, and laundromat, is a great place to spend an afternoon or evening alongside your fluffy friends. They are dog friendly and proudly serve SOL food (sustainable, organic, and local). You can book events here or just come for weekend music and brews. Oh, and bring your dog!
The Friendly Spot Ice House
The Friendly Spot sports 76 taps and some great “beer food.” Come to this outdoor hangout for some “friendly company” and bring your pets and kids! They play sports and movies on the locally owned Slab Cinema (giant blow up movie screen). Enjoy their sliders, hot dogs, quesadillas and brews! Hours are noon to midnight daily.
Freetail Brewing Co.
Named after the Mexican Freetail Bat, Freetail Brewing Co. has several local brews and a dog friendly patio! Like most local breweries, they have a rotating list of beers, so check their website for their current taps. Brewery tours are at 3 pm and 5 pm on Saturdays. Tasting Room hours are Thursday & Friday 4 pm – 9 pm, Saturday 12 pm – 10 pm, Sunday 12 pm – 6 pm.
San Antonio Cat Cafe
Maybe you are more of a cat person (shhh, don’t tell the dogs) but here is a cool place where you can sit, cuddle, and play with adoptable cats. This cafe is new and located near Broadway and the airport. You can order food and drinks (prepped away from the cats), and there are trivia nights and drink specials available. All proceeds go to helping take care of the kitties and get them adopted.
