    How We Transformed Our Kitchen

If you’ve been following my social media, you’ve seen the sweat, dirt, and tears that went into rebuilding my kitchen. Today I’ll show you the finished product.

When we bought our house several years ago, we knew that we didn’t like the kitchen. It was the one thing in the house that we wanted to fix. However, life got in the way, and as time ticked by, we didn’t make it a priority.

Recently, however, we finally got around to updating the kitchen. Here’s how we did it:

We hired some professionals, but we did a lot of the work ourselves. Professionals came in to tear down a wall between the kitchen and living room; this opened up the room and completely transformed our entire living space. They also took care of the entire demo, helped us install our countertops, and put up the tiled wall above our stove.

No matter if you’re a DIY-er or you prefer a professional’s help, I’m here to help you with your home improvements.

As for the work we did ourselves, we started by giving the cabinets a facelift—we gave them all a fresh coat of paint and some new hardware. If we had done nothing else, we’d probably still be happy because they are stunning. We also painted our island a different color; it’s not permanent, but more importantly, it’s fun! We purchased all new appliances because we needed them, but if you don’t need them, don’t spend your money there. There’s something else you could spend that money on.

Additionally, we relocated our stove to a better position, and then got rid of the pantry space and reduced some of the cabinet space. We found that we were collecting a ton of stuff that we didn’t need, so we used the pantry space to install a new refrigerator/freezer instead. To replace the cabinets, we instead put in some fun, modern open shelves.
